At a time of profound social, economic, cultural, and environmental changes, advancing our understanding of mental health and psychopathology requires both reflection on the past and a clear vision for the future. The 2027 Meeting of the APPA examines the history that has shaped psychopathology research and considers how emerging perspectives can inform scientific inquiry in the field. The program will feature curated panels from academic institutions highlighting their contributions to psychopathology research and perspectives on its future, as well as presentations from submitted talks.

Bringing together multidisciplinary researchers, clinicians, and scholars, the meeting will explore how foundational theories and paradigms, research traditions, and institutional practices continue to influence our understanding of mental illness and intervention.
